Have you, or someone close to you, ever had to cope with mental health issues? In New Zealand, mental health is a national crisis:
- Nearly 50% of New Zealanders will experience a mental health problem in their lifetime.
- One in five will experience mental illness this year.
- In the year to 30 June 2019, 685 New Zealanders died by suicide.
The Mental Health Foundation (MHF) of New Zealand is focused on promoting positive mental health; the reduction of prejudice and discrimination; suicide prevention; increasing social inclusion for those with lived experience of mental distress, and advocating for positive change.
We're on a quest to raise $10 000 in funds for the foundation's good work. By donating whatever you can to our fundraiser page, you’ll be helping to support the Mental Health Foundation’s information service; suicide prevention resources and bereavement support; mental health awareness campaigns and advocacy to influence the long-term effect on the mental health of all New Zealanders.
