Team Mental Health Foundation
Please help me raise money for the Mental Health Foundation and support me to complete my first ever half marathon.
Having never run more than 15km before (when I was much fitter than I am now), I'm feeling rather anxious about not only committing to this but also asking you lovely people to support me!
I'm doing this because more than 50% of New Zealanders will experience a mental health problem in their lifetime. From my own experience of depression and ongoing anxiety, I am super passionate about raising awareness for mental health wellbeing and reducing stigma. In 2020 I will be completing my 9th and final (thank goodness) year of study as an intern clinical psychologist, and with the Mental Health Foundation being a charity partner for Round the Bays, the timing feels like a sign for me to commit! Luckily I have the goodest boy ever, Jax (pictured above), to keep me company on many of my training runs
Your donation will help the Mental Health Foundation to provide people with free information, resources and campaigns covering the A-Z of mental health and wellbeing topics. It will also help them advocate for helpful and hopeful policies and services for people living with mental illness.
