Dunedin Marathon 2022

My Activity Tracking

My target 270 kms

I'm fundraising for mental health

As a survivor of male childhood sexual trauma I speak out to spread awareness that identity crisis and abandonment of self narrative can carry a heavy load on men that are forced behind a wall of male stigma in our modern world after living my life the past 24 years under a narrative of male expectations I took a turn for the worst, finding myself in depression and longing for meaning in life constant alarms ring in the mind of a man that has no sense of identity, Be a man! Toughen up! Don't talk just keep it to yourself! After finding myself by addressing theses traumatic events life for my whanau my community and myself has just begun, I am 1 in 6 men that have this trauma but only very few survive and this is the reality and the awareness we need to raise for the betterment of ourselves our whanau and our people korero Mai e tane, korero Mai

I'm helping raise money and awareness for mental health because nearly 50% of New Zealanders will experience a mental health problem in their lifetime, and I don’t want them to face it on their own.

Your donation will help the Mental Health Foundation provide people with free information, resources and campaigns covering the A-Z of mental health and wellbeing topics. It will also help them advocate for helpful and hopeful policies and services for people living with mental illness.

So please show your support and donate to my page today. Every little bit counts!

Thank you in advance,

You may be wondering how preparation for the marathon is going? "Well I'm enjoying this beautiful sunny day with my children" Whanau connection is one of the most important ways to keep our minds in the right place pull out a book or some toys switch of that t.v and laugh a little 😆 this is all the drive I'm needing for this marathon! My children are just a small part of my whanau, the large part is all the people moving towards healing themselves and the people around them ❤ I'm proud of everyone of you!!
